Introduction

The Report Center application is a tool which allows students to submit reports which then will be corrected by the responsible assistants. Reports submitted by students will automatically appear when the responsible assistants login, and if they accept or refuse a report it will be displayed in the student’s view.

• Some scripts use special classes and settings specific to the ETH system. Please have a look at the manual for more information about this.

Basic Features

• Student groups and experiments can be fully customized using the admin section.
• Students can submit any number of documents for an experiment and add comments to the submissions.
• Assistants can accept or refuse a report or they can upload a document with changes so that the student can revise the report.
• Status views show the students, assistants and admins which reports are accepted and which are still missing.
  

Download and Installation

• Download the Report Center application as Zope zexp-export and place the file in the "import" directory of your Zope installation on the server (you should create the "import" directory in the root of your Zope installation if it does not yet exist). Then click on "Import/Export" in the ZMI and choose "reports.zexp" as file name.
• Create the necessary MySQL tables. You can use this SQL dump to create the tables. It is recommended that the default MySQL connection encoding is set to UTF-8.
• Edit the MySQL database connection named mysql_connection and adjust the settings in the "Properties" tab.
